Local rules and resources worth knowing

Johnson County K-State Research and Extension (11811 S. Sunset Drive, Suite 1500, Olathe) publishes the home wildlife-proofing checklist we use on inspections and can answer identification questions by phone (Wildlife-Proof Your Home).

Kansas pesticide licensing. Anyone applying rodenticide for hire in Kansas needs a pesticide business license in the structural category (7E). You can check any company at the Kansas Department of Agriculture business search. Ours is #101003.

Timing. The extension's advice is to inspect in the fall, before cold weather pushes animals toward shelter. If you want sealing done before that, late summer is the window.
